fernando isaí, they/them/he, is a teaching artist, community organizer and artist currently living in Los Angeles. The various roles in their practices often overlap and indeed are cultivated concurrently. In fernando’s teaching practice you will find social justice examples and context, in their community organizing you will find the joy of collaborative learning and creating. at the heart of their teaching and their community collaborative artworks is the freedom and responsibility of justice and dignity, addressed through the learning and sharing of access, to tools, to space, to safety, to time, and to the self. As an organizer and as a Teaching Artist, fernando is invested in sharing tools to understand, process and intervene, with the world and with the self. This access is a building block to learning about ourselves and the world around us, and to imagining a different world. fernando isaí practices is a multi-media artist, most recently working win photography, the written word, and maps intervene with photography and embroidery. fernando isaí has been a part of many collectives including: Indigenous Oaxacan Cooperativa, Proyecto Nakba: Artistas Palestinas por Palestina, Comité Oaxacali, Oaxaca en Solidaridad con Palestina, Bej Che Welan.
